Robert Polidori — Versailles: The Poetics of Silent Space
Robert Polidori
Date
Robert Polidori has documented the history of architectural spaces and their surrounding environments throughout his career. Starting as an assistant to avant-garde filmmaker Jonas Mekas in the late 1960s, he began photographing the restoration of the Palace of Versailles in the early 1980s and has captured its evolving landscape for over 30 years. Polidori's work reveals temporal paradox — the past and present visually intertwined within a single frame.
